Christophe Lavergne

I have been a KNX system integrator for more than 20 years and a KNX trainer recognized by my peers for over 9 years.

My work focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining reliable building automation systems, both in residential and tertiary environments.

This dual experience — field integration and professional training — is the foundation of all the guides published on this website.

Built on real-world experience

Before writing any guide, I spent years designing and commissioning KNX installations, correcting poorly designed systems, and helping projects evolve over time.
Real projects come with real constraints:
budgets, deadlines, long-term maintenance, system evolution, and client expectations.
This is why my approach always prioritizes:

  • system architecture over isolated features
  • clarity over complexity
  • long-term reliability over short-term effects

Training professionals, not just explaining concepts

Being a trainer has shaped the way I write.
👉 What seems obvious to an expert is often unclear to someone learning or entering the field.

Over the years, I have trained professionals and advanced learners on KNX and building automation topics, which helped me develop a clear, structured and practical teaching approach :

The goal of these guides is not to oversimplify, but to make complex systems understandable without losing technical accuracy

An independent technical perspective

These guides are not driven by marketing considerations or product promotion.
They are written from an independent, system-oriented perspective, applicable across different project types and technical contexts.

The objective is to transmit a way of thinking and designing systems, not to push specific brands or ready-made solutions

What you will not find in these guides

✓ generic “one-size-fits-all” recipes
✓ product-centered marketing content,
✓ oversimplified or purely theoretical explanations.

Instead, you will find structured reasoning, practical design principles and real-world examples that can be adapted to your own projects.
